Marc Ford

show

Guitarist Marc Ford, who is best known for performing and recording with The Black Crowes and Ben Harper, began his career with the blues-rock outfit Burning Tree in the late 1980's. A power trio featuring Ford on guitars and vocals, Mark Dutton on bass and Doni Gray on drums, Burning Tree released their self-titled debut album on Epic Records in 1990. In late 1991, Marc Ford sat in several times with The Black Crowes in-concert, performing The Allman Brothers Band's classic hit, "Dreams." Ford toured with Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals for the majority of 2003, from which their live double disc, Live at the Hollywood Bowl was drawn from. Ford continued his association with Ben Harper and his band through the close of 2004, when he was called to rejoin The Black Crowes for their "All Join Hands" reunion run. This reunion would serve as the platform for one of the greatest rock and roll comebacks in recent years. It would be the first time Ford would take the stage again with the band and Black Crowes fans were beyond ecstatic when the news broke in March 2005. Ford never severed his ties with Harper, however, appearing on his 2006 album Both Sides of the Gun and performing a handful of shows in support.

Susie Glaze

show

Susie & The Hilonesome Band come to the venerable Claremont Folk Music Center for a show featuring the best Appalachia to Bluegrass - Americana fusion with songs from the new album "Green Kentucky Blues" and award-winning "Blue Eyed Darlin'" along with mountain standards from the Jean Ritchie collection, old favorites from Iris Dement and our new version of the Dylan classic "Lay Down Your Weary Tune" (featured on Sirius Radio June 29th!).

Broadway actress and singer, award-winning recording artist and critically-acclaimed Bluegrass powerhouse vocalist, Susie Glaze has been called by BLUEGRASS UNLIMITED "...an important voice on the California Bluegrass scene." A native Tennessean, Susie grew up in the shadow of the Grand Ole Opry, learning the craft of country and bluegrass from a short distance by regular immersion of Flatt & Scruggs, Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn among others. When just 16 she sang for her brother Rick's writer's nights song showcases in Nashville.

Berkley Hart

show

Hailed as masters of both two part harmony and dazzling song craft, over the past ten years, Berkley Hart have established themselves as one of the premier acoustic duos touring the country. In concert the duo shines, the obvious camaraderie between these two top songwriters driving each performance. Add in virtuoso playing from both Jeff Berkley (guitar, percussion) and Calman Hart (guitar, harmonica) as well as their good natured humor and it’s easy to see why the two have become live favorites. That said, it’s their acclaimed albums which have racked up the accolades, each filled with tunes as catchy as you’re likely to come across. Over their four albums to date, the duo has honed their approach, experimenting with format and instrumentation, even using a band. Now the pair has stripped their sound down to the basics, using only what they can carry, their guitars and their voices.
